As you can see, the old kitchen is completely gone. My old appliances are awaiting pickup by Goodwill tomorrow. They've done the ceiling tiles in the dining room and will probably finish the kitchen ceiling tomorrow. The electrician also comes tomorrow to move switches and hook up the new lighting, and they are planning on painting the dining room tomorrow as well.
Next week should see the tile floors go down as well as the rest of the painting getting done, and then the cabinets will go in and the appliances, the backsplash, and voila! a new kitchen--I hope in no more than two more weeks.
Notice how in the top picture you can see the old brown brick pattern we had when we first moved into the house--much darker than I remember it being. The only place that still shows is in the front bathroom, which will be remodeled next spring.
