Went to the local appliance store to order the cooktop and found out that Electrolux is backordered and it would be a minimum of 2 and 1/2 to three weeks before we could get one. Luckily, they had a perfectly good display model, never used, and were willing to sell it to us. For $100 less! So I bought it and brought it home, and we'll take the other (wrong) one back to Sears tonight and get our money refunded. What a relief!
The guys are working now, putting in the pocket door. They are getting ready to sheet rock and will take down those hideous soffits today. The old flourescent light that I hated is now kaput. I now understand the people on all those renovation shows on TV who get excited about demolishing old cabinets and fixtures--what a relief to see them go and know that what will replace them is so much nicer.
